About Nora Cedarwind Young

Nora Cedarwind Young is an ordained Priestess, Minister and member of the Circle of Stella Maris in the Pacific Northwest. Nora is the first Eco-Spiritual, Pagan Clergy for her county hospital. Her true passion is as a Death Midwife and Hospice volunteer. Her focus is End-of-Life Issues, education and reclaiming Caring for our Beloved Dead, Rights of our Last Rites and Green Burials. She was an active educator in the Iseum of Stella Maris Priest/ess Training Course and studied for several years with well-known artist/teacher/priestess Joanna Powell Colbert. Nora is also presently a Minister doing Advanced Studies at Circle Sanctuary with Selena Fox.

Nora has taught classes in her community since the mid 1990’s on The Joy of the Goddess, Seasonal Celebrations, Seasonal Traditions, and Chants and Songs for Children and Women. She has facilitated Rites of Passage for every Threshold life has to offer. These include Blessingways, Naming Ceremonies, First Moon Blood, Young Adulthood, Motherhood, Queening, Handfasting, Marriage, Handpartings, Cronings, Death and Passing over to the Summerland. She is well known for facilitating rituals and workshops at many Women’s and Neo-Pagan gatherings through out the Pacific Northwest.

Nora has twice been a presenter at Seattle's annual Women of Wisdom Conference and the Provender Alliance for Organic Education. Nora is a dedicated Hospice volunteer, and has done hundreds of hours of advocacy work for Domestic Violence, Breast feeding of multiple birth children and community youth programs. Nora has participated in numerous panels and media forums to educate others about Eco-spirituality including area public schools. Presently she serves on the board for her five community food banks, an Ecumenical medical equipment lending bank and is an advisory to The Beltane Papers Magazine. Nora raised four children in the path and lives on the Olympic Peninsula with her beloved husband and home schooled teenage daughter where she continues to serve both interfaith and intrafaith at her county hospital and through Ceremonies for Life's Thresholds.
