Come together in circle to empower yourself, your family, community and friends.  Learn to honor the passing of a loved one through a home funeral, green burial or vigil. Reclaim the time honored traditions of home death care and choice through education. This practical, hands-on workshop is for you, caregivers, families planning a loved one's passing, ministers, hospice staff or volunteers, end-of-life professionals, community advocates and those pursuing this life's work.

Step through the threshold and learn to:

  • Assess if a family is a good fit for a home funeral
  • Create sacred space & connection
  • Prepare, plan and participate in a home funeral vigil
  • Be present to a loved one's passing
  • Understand the laws and file a death certificate
  • Respond with intention at the time of death
  • Care for the deceased through bathing & dressing
  • Bless and anoint a body with intention
  • Safe and proper cooling and handling of dry ice

About Nora Cedarwind Young

NoraNora Cedarwind Young is an ordained Priestess, Certified Death Midwife, Hospice Chaplain, Green Burial Educator, End-of-Life Planning Advocate and Home Funeral Guide.  Her focus is on education and reclaiming the care of our dead, appropriate planning and earth stewardship.  She has facilitated rites of passage for every “threshold” life has to offer. Nora is known for facilitating rituals and workshops at many gatherings and conferences throughout United States. A dedicated Hospice volunteer and perpetual student, Nora resides on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State with her beloved husband and a few cats all in a grove of tall cedars. Come together in sacred space where we will tell our stories, and embrace the honor of working together and with end-of-life in a beautiful and private home, with a waterfront view, eagles, herons, otters and tides. We will co-create meals to keep the expense of our journey together affordable. More information to follow once registration deposits are received and confirmation will come via email, including a questionnaire regarding food preferences so we can menu plan to co-create nutritious, good food to energize us on this journey.
